Deathmaster Snikch

Holy Crap it’s been a long time since I’ve posted!  Alrighty; new year, new commitment.  I didn’t hit 2 units a week, although I DO think I hit over 65 units painted for last year.  I should have just been happy with 1 unit a week.  :p  So anyways, here we go again:  1 unit per week commitment.  Currently I’m working on 120 rats (4 units), 3 Rat Ogres, a Bone Breaker w/Skaven Warlord, a Warp Lightning canon, 5 assault marines, a dreadnought, a vindicator, 5 sanguinary guard, 5 Blood Crushers, Skulltaker on a Juggernaut, 3 weapons teams, a Warlock engineer, and a chaos dwarf sorcerer on a Lammasu… 16 units altogether.  This will probably be similar to when I was working on all my daemons; a lot of “slow” progress, but I’ll finish several units over the course of a few weeks.

Deathmaster Snikch was pretty easy.  Granted I don’t do any wild advanced paint schemes, but for the most part he was all one color with a few embellishments here and there.  I don’t find assassins to be very valid in the new Skaven book; the couple of times that I have used them, they’ve been pretty worthless…

I’m fairly excited about the new Skaven units coming out; I’ll most likely get one of each of the new items so I can have two Hell Pit Abominations, Plague Claw Catapults, Warp Lightning canons, etc.  I think the Doom Flayer in particular looks very good.  I’m also excited at the prospect of getting a Storm Raven in February…

Daemonettes of Slaanesh

Of all the Daemons I painted, these were the most complex since they actually had clothes. I didn’t do much in the way of painting last night, as I had a meeting to go to, but I suspect my Fire Warriors and Pathfinders will be finished tonight, along with my construction of my 4 Dragon Ogres and Plague Claw Catapult. (built and primed). Next week: Tyranid spores (aka pink horrors) and one more unit of Fire Warriors.

Plague Claw Catapult Work in Progress

While this isn’t really anything all that spectacular, it is the first one I’ve seen to incorporate the Plague Furnace wrecking ball. It’s a pretty simple design. I used the frame and wheels from the Hellcannon, the crew, ball, and bell from the Bell/Furnace kit, some other Skaven bits, and a metal rod. I’m considering adding a few more Skaven-y things, but I may go for the less is more approach. I finished my Vermin Lord last night, and will be finishing up my Firewarriors and Pathfinders in the next day or two…

Bloodcrusher of Khorne

hmmm… I’m not sure if this picture thing is working…

Anywho, this is a Bloodcrusher of Khorne (if you can see it). Surprisingly, he didn’t actually take all that long to do since he was mostly red. I made a ton of progress last night. I’m nearly finished with 12 of my Firewarriors and 6 Pathfinders, and on the cusp of finishing my converted Vermin Lord. I also finished a hill, constructed a Dragon Ogre, and added a few more bits to my Plague Claw Catapult. Tonight I’m going to take some WiP photos, so hopefully I’ll have them up tomorrow or the next day…

Tau Drones

We’ll start with something simple since its Monday.  I painted up almost 20 of these things, so pardon if I don’t show them all…  🙂  I finally finished my Hammerhead over the weekend, and I’ve made great strides with my firewarriors/pathfinders as well as the Vermin Lord that I constructed.  I’m planning on having them all finished by friday.  I also began construction (again) on my plague claw catapult.  I didn’t like how it was looking originally, so I took it apart, removed the green stuff and started from scratch after looking at some examples on the interwebs…  Now, my leftover bell is being used as the counterweight, so it looks more believable.  Have a great Monday!
